Today, on 7th October 2014, the Embassy of France in Romania together with the French Institute in Cluj Napoca, organizes an information session for French students at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy.
The event will take place at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, in Iuliu Hațieganu hall, at 6.30 PM, where the organizers, along with François Saint-Paul, French Ambassador in Romania, Alexis Grand, General Consul of France in Romania, Pascal Fesneau, Honorary Consul of France in Cluj-Napoca, Benoit Bavouset, director of the French Institute in Cluj-Napoca and the sponsors, Medisprof, the oncology clinic and Groupama, an insurance company will be holding a first information session for the students.
During the event, Brendan Lavoué, Project Manager at Medisprof, will hold a short speech which will present the opportunity of getting into residency at Medisprof. The clinic offers young students a chance to take the first steps towards a career in medicine. The meeting will continue with providing useful information to students, talking about their rights and obligations, as well as about aspects of student life in Cluj-Napoca. Finally, there will be a “game” of discovering Cluj. We will be back with more information and photos from the event.
Later edit: As we promised, we are back with details from the information session held three days ago at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy. The session began with a moment of introduction of all the guests and continued with the intervention of Medisprof’s representative, Brendan Lavoué. He talked about important qualities of an oncologist, emphasizing on the importance that the specialization has in medicine. Also, the educational events that Medisprof prepares for students interested in oncology were summarized.
Further on, representatives of the Embassy of France in Romania have provided useful information such as enrollment in French registers abroad, insurance, and details about life in Cluj. As for the cultural part of the city, representatives of the French Institute presented the events they have and invited the French students to participate.
The information session ended in a relaxing note with a Q&A session for the participants, followed by moving to a more informal setting.
By the way, did you know that Cluj-Napoca attracts the most francophone students in Eastern Europe, followed by Warsaw and Budapest? There are over 2,000 French students in faculties of Cluj, of whom 1,005 are enrolled in Medicine. Yesterday, we had almost 250 students present which means a quarter of the francophone students enrolled at University of Medicine and Pharmacy. We truly hope that from the students we met three days ago, at least two of them will continue the series of new experiences and will apply for the residency program at Medisprof clinic.
